Ami's Wild Web

For Amiya Aranha's 2024 game jam.

In Ami's Wild Web you play as everyone's favorite spider girl, Amiya Aranha, in order to save Buckokind! Due to having unclear instructions, Buckos are going wild in the web! Navigate the levels of Ami's web and save the distressed Buckos on each level to progress. If left too long, distressed Buckos will turn into a Burnt Broc! 4 Burnt Brocs and you'll have to restart the level. Then, conquer the final challenge to save all Buckos forever!

-Controls-

The directional pad controls Ami's movement (WASD in web)

Press A next to Buckos to save them (J in web)

Press B to toggle Run (K in web)

Press Start to display the pause screen (Enter in web)

Just a short little thing. This was my first time working with GB Studio and Game Boy games in general. I had the idea for the general gameplay before deciding to use GB Studio so it was interesting working around the limitations of the Game Boy and GB Studio, and it really changed the direction of the game. I might end up tweaking some things later, adding more levels, and adjusting difficulty.  It's also given me ideas for the next Ami game jam.
